Koge Nord Station (with Kengo Kuma and Associates)
L○Koge High-Speed Rail Station is an infrastructural competition project that employs a lightweight structure of roof trusses, suspended slab with cables and massive columns to create a long span structure that bridges the platforms of the high-speed train and local train. The use of PTFE membrane allows the light to pass throughout and create a distinctive character at the day time and night time. The use of a perfect ‘arc’ on plan allows the unification of structural details for rapid manufacturing, and also to create a ‘sweeping’ concave view in the interiors that is ever changing.
